Based on Vancouver Island, Bear West Books publishes fiction that is rooted in the West Coast experience. We love stories that are strange and spooky, emotional and adventurous. Our books explore the unique coastlines, islands, wilderness, and people that populate the wild edge.

We give thanks to the people who are today called K'omoks, consisting of the Pentlatch, Ieeksan (eye-ick-sun), Sasitla (sa-seet-la), Xa’xe (ha-hey) and Sathloot (sath-loot) people. We are grateful for the privilege to live in this unceded territory and to participate in the stewardship of land and waters. gilakas’la / čɛčɛ haθɛč
